Astrology, for me, is a kind of divination. It uses the sky at the moment of your birth as an occasion for contemplation.
What I love about this particular tradition is that you enter and exit this moment of the sky repeatedly for the rest of your time on Earth, always entering and exiting through different doors and rooms.
In this way, it resembles the spiritual practice of making art. There are cycles of flow and fallow; we wait, then we are bombarded, and then we make some work that is evidence of what we now understand.
In the case of astrology, the work you make is your life.
the approach
I came to astrology many years ago during a moment of crisis. In a completely unexpected way, it has since stood as a guide for my years, then months, and now weeks and days.
How, you might ask? In looking up at the stars, which seem so still to us on Earth, astrology reminds me of their constant moving, and that much can be happening that we do not consciously see.
Astrology has reminded me, again and again, that I am here for a reason, and that reason can be read, and re-interpreted, through the symbolism of one moment for the rest of my life.
I bring my training as an artist and teacher and my lived experience of suffering to offer the same possibility to you.
FAQs
How do I get the most out of my reading?
My favorite readings are the ones in which the client is actively engaged in our discussion. While I can translate your natal chart, you are actually living it, so your participation is paramount to a successful reading. Send me questions beforehand or ask questions as they come up when your reading is underway. Astrological symbols have multiple meanings, so many permutations of lived experiences can come out of one chart. Only you know which path you are on in those possibilities, so the more you share, the more meaningful and relevant the reading will become.
Who are your teachers and what do you practice?
I am primarily practicing right now as a Western traditional astrologer. After beginning to follow astrology through the work of Chani Nicholas about a decade ago, my casual hobby has gradually become a serious passion, and I have since completed a yearlong training with Adam Elenbaas in Hellenistic astrology while self-teaching through offerings by Demetra George and Chris Brennan.
When will your bookings open?
Openings will be shared through my newsletter whenever they are available. While I am offering readings, I consider myself to be still in training as an astrologer. Due to the positive response of friends who graciously lent me their charts for early practice sessions, I have opened a small practice primarily for returning clients and referrals. If you have found me through some other channel, do let me know how you got here in your intake.
